PLEASE NOTE: If you employ a Doulas listed on our page, Baby on Board Doulas cannot accept any responsibility for services provided to you by that Doula. We advise that you ask the Doula to show you her portfolio, which should contain details of her qualifications, CRB check and insurance at the consultation. It is recommended that a written contract is drawn up between you and the Doula before the agreement commences.

The Doula is not supporting the mother in a clinical role - that is the job of the midwife/medical staff (the Doula is not medically trained).

The Doula is employed by the parents. The Doula is responsible for her own tax and insurance and has her own public liability insurance.
