Our aim is to provide training of the highest quality and excellence, that not only safeguards the parents at a vulnerable and exciting time, but also the Doula, so she herself can enable, inform, support and empower parents

The first ten students to qualify for the CACHE Level 3 Doula Qualification were presented with certificates by Eastleigh College Chief Executive, Tony Lau-Walker, who added
"Everyone involved has worked extremely hard in creating this important award.
We are fortunate to be at its birth and look forward to seeing it grow."

Baby on Board Doula Training, Birth and Postnatal

Professional Doula Award Level 3. Endorsed by CACHE Council for Awards in Children Care and Education

This course is designed for women who have had their own children or childcarers that have had at least two years experience with new born babies or children less than two years of age.

Course numbers are limited as this enables us to facilitate group work, discussions and interactive teaching.

All participants will be required to complete a piece of work before the course commences. After the course has finished an assigment will be given to students to complete within a set period of time.

* The doula course has been awarded a registering body through FEDANT, what this means is that the course is recognised by Fedant and has been passed by a Standards and Education committee. Doulas who successfully complete the training can then register with Fedant and be on their register, this then gives prospective parents peace of mind that doulas have fulfilled certain requirements, and parents themselves can go and check that the doula is registered.

Parents can then be assured that:

- a doula is qualified
- a doula is insured
- the doula is continually updating their knowledge
- the doula abide by a Code of Ethics and Practice
- the doula adhere to a Complaints and Disciplinary Procedure

At the moment there is no requirement that a doula has to have any formal training and therefore you can if you so wish become a “doula” with out any training.

We want to provide training that not only safeguards the parents at a vulnerable, but exciting time in their lives, but also the doula, so she herself feels confident and empowered when supporting the parents.
